Job Title: Day Support Worker - Young Adults Location: Northern Ireland - Day Services Setting Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday (8:30am-3:30pm) Salary: £12.60 per hour, rising with length of service Contract: Permanent About the Role We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Day Support Workers to join our vibrant day services team, supporting young adults with a variety of complex needs. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping individuals develop skills, enjoy enriching activities, and live fulfilling lives. You'll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team, delivering person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and choice. Activities range from creative arts and sports to educational workshops, community outings, and skill-building sessions - all tailored to the needs and interests of those we support. What You'll Do Support young adults in day services to engage in meaningful activities and work opportunities. Assist with personal care when required. Promote independence, choice, and well-being through tailored individual support plans. Communicate effectively using each person's preferred methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS). Follow care plans and risk assessments, reporting changes or concerns to senior staff. Help create a safe, caring, and stimulating environment. Keep accurate daily notes and reports. Work within organisational policies, safeguarding standards, and health & safety guidelines. About You Essential: QCF Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care, OR at least 1 year's relevant care experience. Minimum of 6 months experience in a caring or educational support role. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Caring, reliable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality. Willingness to register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC). Desirable: Qualifications in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences, or equivalent (Level 3). Experience working with individuals with disabilities, complex needs, or challenging behaviours. Training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or Autism awareness.
