Overview
Are you a Band 6 or Band 7 Occupational Therapist looking to take the next step in your career? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly specialised Occupational Therapist within the In-patient Orthopaedic Therapy Team at Warrington and Halton Hospitals.
Responsibilities
* Manage a personal clinical caseload of complex patients on both elective and trauma inpatient wards.
* Provide clinical support and supervision to the wider integrated team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.
* Lead in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment with in-depth understanding of the Home First approach to patient care and safe, timely discharge from hospital.
* Undertake day-to-day clinical management of patients across trauma and elective wards.
* Supervise, train and support Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants of varying grades.
* Work with the multi-disciplinary team and flow management to support the team lead in response to trust pressures and strategic objectives.
* Provide therapy assessments and interventions for a diverse patient group; NHS orthopaedics experience is essential.
* Commit to 37.5 hours per week over 5 working days, including a 7-day working contract and weekend rota commitment.
* Be based across the Trust sites for therapy services, including Warrington Hospital, Lovely Lane, Warrington WA5 1QG and Halton Hospital, Hospital Way, Palacefields, WA7 2DA.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Experience working within NHS orthopaedics; in-depth understanding of the Home First approach to patient care.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment and provide leadership and supervision to a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated capability to manage a personal clinical caseload of complex patients in inpatient settings.
Working Arrangements
The post is based across Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust sites with a 37.5-hour week over 5 days, including weekend rota commitments.
