Delegated Authority Auditor
Location: London or Birmingham (Hybrid – 2 days in the office)
Travel: Regular UK & Ireland travel required
My client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Delegated Authority Auditor to join their newly established Delegated Authority Audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping and embedding a high-quality delegated audit framework, supporting strong governance and compliance across a network of coverholders and third-party administrators.
The Role
Reporting into the Delegated Authority Audit Manager, you will be responsible for planning, delivering and reporting on audits of delegated authority arrangements, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning and preparing audit fieldwork, including drafting audit scopes
* Conducting end-to-end audits of coverholders and third-party administrators
* Completing sales, underwriting, claims and complaints file reviews, including call listening
* Assessing governance, controls, contractual compliance and regulatory adherence
* Producing clear, concise audit reports with risk ratings and practical remediation actions
* Escalating material risks and breaches to senior stakeholders
* Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
* Supporting best practice and continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintaining a rolling, risk-based audit schedule
* Feeding audit insights into governance forums and partner performance reviews
* Tracking remediation actions to ensure timely resolution of findings
* Maintaining audit finding trackers and reporting on themes and trends
* Keeping up to date with regulatory changes and emerging industry topics
About You
* Background within the insurance industry
* 3+ years’ experience in delegated authority, audit, governance oversight, compliance monitoring, quality assurance or a related function
* Strong understanding of coverholder and third-party administrator oversight requirements
* Working knowledge of UK and EU regulatory frameworks
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Well organised with excellent attention to detail
* Willingness to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland
* Professional qualifications such as CII are desirable
