The role: Shift Engineer

We are working with an iconic hotel group to find them a Shift Engineer for one of their stunning UK properties. As a technical specialist you will manage repairs, either in person or through subcontractors, respond to daily engineering issues and perform proactive routine maintenance and equipment inspection, being fully aware of Health and Safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide engineering expertise and services across the hotel to enable a 24/7 operation
* Liaise with the Housekeeping and Engineering Coordinator to prioritize jobs and provide feedback on status of repairs and time required to perform the job.
* Act as a rapid response resource to reported faults and emergency situations
* Participate in engineering projects and installations
* Perform planned preventative maintenance and proactive routine equipment inspection to ensure minimal down time of operational equipment
* Conduct routine equipment checks in guest rooms : and conduct routine repairs and touch ups to meet technical requirements and Hotel service goals
* Assess and identify any complex or potential technical maintenance or operating issues in Guest rooms, and report to the Chief Engineer.
* Offer support and advise to floor teams for fault diagnosis in technical equipment/systems, to ensure effective operation and minimal disruption
* Ensure the effective operation of all technical equipment in designated area
* Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner and ensure compliance to relevant legislative and health and safety requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience within a hotel environment
* ONC /HNC or City and Guilds Building Services qualifications
* Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering qualifications
* Experience within Building services and controls
* Knowledge of BMS controls, heating and air conditioning equipment and the general functioning of equipment such as plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical and TV controls
* Knowledge of Health and Safety and Risk assessments
Due to the location of the role, you will need your own vehicle.
You must be able to live and work in the UK without restriction.
