About the role
Finance Director at Spire Little Aston Hospital responsible for leading the development and execution of the hospital’s financial strategy, translating it into operational practice and delivering on business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Hospital Director and Senior Management Team to develop the hospital's business strategy.
* Lead the translation and implementation of the strategy into operational practice, delivering on business objectives and annual operating plans for P&L and working capital.
* Deliver insightful analysis to support decision‑making and improve performance.
* Support and develop the financial, operational and commercial decision‑making of staff and teams throughout the hospital.
* Add value by encouraging managers to push boundaries, promote risk‑taking and deliver differentiated services to consultants and patients.
* Support business development by maximising resource allocation to enable the hospital to expand into existing and new markets.
* Provide decision support, financial and operational reporting to ensure efficient, effective and compliant hospital operations.
* Promote a commercial culture of continuous improvement to deliver the highest quality processes and services.
* Ensure appropriate processes and structures for robust data collection and delivery of accurate, meaningful monthly performance management information.
* Ensure the efficient and profitable delivery of patient services and NHS contracting.
Qualifications and Experience

* Focus on delivery – identifying, planning and delivering agreed objectives.
* Experience with best‑in‑class implementation and BAU delivery of performance management systems and solutions.

* Leadership of change through people, securing high performance through collaboration and empowerment.
* Commercially astute qualified accountant with significant experience in a financial role within the healthcare sector.
* Demonstrates high personal integrity, initiative and a commitment to personal development.
* PC literate, fully conversant with SAP and Microsoft Office, with ability to adopt and contribute to new systems.
* Excellent interpersonal skills – effective written and oral communicator, able to build relationships and influence others.
