Protocol Education is supporting a well-established primary school to recruit a caring and committed Teaching Assistant (SEND 1:1 Support).

Are you passionate about making a real difference to a young pupil’s educational journey and personal development? Our client is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).


About the Role:

* Provide 1:1 support to a named KS1 pupil with specific academic, physical, medical, and intimate care needs.

* Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to assist in planning, delivering, and adapting learning activities across the curriculum.

* Establish a supportive and nurturing relationship that promotes the pupil’s self-esteem, independence, and inclusion within the whole school community.

* Deliver daily intimate care and welfare support, including administering First Aid if trained.

* Contribute to pupil progress monitoring, maintain accurate records, and provide relevant feedback.

* Support lunchtime supervision (Monday and Tuesday) including overseeing play and managing behaviour to maintain a calm and safe environment.

* Liaise with outside agencies as required, under the guidance of the SENDCo or class teacher.

* Assist with general school duties such as setting up classrooms, preparing resources, and supervising pupils at various times throughout the school day.

* Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection policies, ensuring pupil safety and wellbeing at all times.


Role Details:

* Fixed-term contract for 1 year (subject to pupil’s placement and funding).

* Hours: 12.5 per week (Monday & Tuesday, 8:30am–3:15pm including 30 mins unpaid lunch).

* Includes 30 minutes daily lunchtime supervision.

* Salary: £13.05 - £13.26 per hour (Grade 5 SCP 6-7).

* Working year: 43.6 weeks.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
