BASIC FUNCTION
:
The overall objective of the Area Sales Manager is to provide the highest level of service to our customers by helping them manage and grow their Callaway Golf business, while maintaining and enhancing the Callaway Golf brand image and achieving/exceeding sales and KPI targets.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meeting or exceeding sales objectives and Key Performance Indicators, as well as developing the long-term strength of the Callaway Golf business with retail accounts. Excelling in customer service and commercialism. Maximising category distribution and increasing market share across the territory.
Account Relationship and Selling Skills:
Area Sales Manager's are expected to engage in a consultative selling relationship. Develop an in-depth understanding of Callaway Golf's goals and strategies. Manage the account inventory, sell-though and profitability. As such, it is imperative to understand the account's goals and initiatives. Understand and communicate all sales programmes and administer all sales policies. Able to make compelling sales presentations and overcome objections.
Sell the complete product line maximising business potential with appropriate products and inventory levels. A key goal will be to increase Callaway's brand penetration by prospecting and opening new accounts. Use all appropriate reports and information on a regular basis to help customers understand, manage and grow their business with Callaway. Effectively communicate promotions and incentives to maximise sales.
Product Knowledge
: Understand and communicate design, features, advantages and benefits of the entire product line in a simple and compelling way. Responsible for ongoing training on all products, sales programmes, pricing and availability.
Merchandising and Retail Presentation:
The presentation and retail staff support at Club Callaway accounts is expected to be at "flagship" levels for the brand. This includes a prominent position in-store and creative merchandising of Callaway products in high profile positions using Callaway provided POP. Retail staff must be knowledgeable about Callaway products and be able to articulate features and benefits to all types of consumers.
Time and Territory Management:
Regular sales call rotation plan and managing distribution within the territory with a minimum of 15 planned sales calls per week. This entails ongoing evaluation of each customer's performance and their support of the brand. A key metric will be expanding distribution within the defined territory to reach all golf consumers.
Information for Business Analysis, Planning and Forecasting:
Work closely with internal colleagues to conduct various analyses for planning, distribution, maximising market share and growing sales revenue. Work with internal Power BI reporting for use in meetings to help emphasise the commercial benefits of selling Callaway Golf products.
Policy Implementation:
Understand, articulate, administer and follow all of Callaway Golf's policies including but not limited to Budget, Credit, Demo, Samples, Consignment, Trading, Legal, Sales, Car, Internet and Advertising Policies.
Additional Duties
: Responsible for attending any mandatory trade shows, sales meetings, and conference calls. Plus, assist with any ad hoc duties or projects as required. Submit monthly expense reports, monthly mileage reports, weekly diary updates, holiday requests, and other necessary reports in a proper and timely manner.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
* Required: 4 or more years proven successful field sales experience. High energy, positive attitude, and confident self-starter, competitive and goal oriented. Proven diplomatic, influencing and customer facing skills, excellent presenter.
* Able to demonstrate excellent team interaction and communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise and meet challenging deadlines.
* Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work within budget parameters.
* Must be comfortable with high levels of administrative tasks at certain times of the year.
* Intermediate computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Power BI an advantage).
* Passionate golfer. Full UK drivers' licence with no more than 3 points.
* Preferred: Working knowledge of golf retailing.

* Required: A Levels
* Preferred: Educated to degree level or equivalent
