Base pay range
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in West Sussex.
Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasing support for children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
We seek SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in West Sussex.
At Targeted Provision, our mission is to raise the standard of educational support for vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to boost engagement and improve their educational outlook.

The SEN / SEND Tutor Role
* Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Educational Needs referred by local authorities and schools
* Supporting these young people in their educational and social-emotional development through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor Tasks and Responsibilities
* Planning engaging sessions tailored to each young person's needs
* Delivering holistic sessions that support educational and social-emotional growth
* Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available to obtain)
* Two professional references
* Right to work in the UK
Applicants must be able to promote health, safety, and wellbeing in line with safeguarding policies.
Employment Status
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term placements
* Paid via PAYE, on a contract for service
* No set work hours or expenses covered
* Insurance provided
* Not a self-employed position
