The Role
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the
Paralegal
will be involved in a range of legal and general administrative tasks, working closely with our team of highly qualified and experienced legal professionals.
As Paralegal, you will carry out basic contract review, drafting and legal research tasks, assist with handling general legal queries from the business, contribute to team meetings and exchange information and ideas to support the efficient running of the Abcam Legal & Compliance Team. You will be responsible for providing both legal and general administrative support for the Legal & Compliance Team, including on contract lifecycle management, e-billing from external counsel, and supporting the Compliance team with channel partner diligence.

Requirements
Education, Training & Qualifications
* A strong academic record and previous experience working as a Paralegal, Contract Manager or similar role.
* Law degree or GDL, LPC
Experience
* Likely to be an experienced paralegal interested in moving in-house or with existing in-house experience.
* An understanding of contract law and experience advising on straight-forward commercial contracts.
* Experience of drafting routine agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements, material transfer agreements and preparing commercial contracts from precedent.
* Experience of contract management systems and processes.
* Experience of e-billing software and working with law firms.
* Experience gained within the Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical sectors would be advantageous.
