Are you a recent psychology or criminology graduate or an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant in and around Kempston with a passion for supporting young people facing emotional, social, and behavioural challenges?
We're working with a progressive and inclusive SEN school in Kempston, Bedford, seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring educational psychologists, youth workers, social workers, or those looking to build a career in mental health, education and training.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide tailored support to students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
Work alongside the SENCO, pastoral staff, and external agencies to create a positive and structured learning environment.
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focused on emotional regulation, resilience, and self-esteem.
Help students re-engage with education and act as a positive role model every day.
Who We're Looking For:
A recent graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field (2:1 or above preferred).
Someone passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Calm, empathetic, and capable of building trusting, respectful relationships.
Able to commute to Kempston, Bedford.
Any previous experience working with young people or vulnerable groups (voluntary or paid) is a plus-but not essential.
