The Role
We have a unique and exciting opportunity available to join the team as aHealth and Safety Coordinator! This role will place you at the heart of the action, working alongside experts to deliver a global event that sets the new standard for major sporting celebrations. You'll gain hands-on experience and contribute to creating a world-class Games.
The Health and Safety Coordinator will support the provision of a safe and healthy workplace. They will develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and promote a strong culture of safety among all employees.This is a fixed-term contract position for 3 months.
You will also be responsible for supporting the mobilisation of a Health and Safety Strategy across the business. In addition to the mobilisation of critical Health and Safety practices, your expertise will support the creation of training and communication to ensure an exceptionally safe experience for all.

Job Summary:
AsHealth and Safety Coordinatorfor Glasgow 2026, you will be at the heart of one of the world's most exciting sporting events, helping to create a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved.
This role is focused on supporting the planning, mobilisation, and delivery of the Organising Committee's Health and Safety Strategy, ensuring that all practices align with the highest standards and contribute to a strong culture of safety across the organisation.
You'll work closely with the Director of Executive Office and Social Impact to design and implement key elements such as risk assessment frameworks, training and induction programmes, safety reporting systems, and compliance monitoring tools.
This role will also involve meaningful collaboration across departments to ensure the right responsibilities are understood and embedded, while identifying opportunities for upskilling and accreditation that enhance organisational readiness.
To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrable experience in developing or significantly evolving health and safety strategies, ideally in fast-paced, complex environments.
You will hold relevant Health and Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
A fantastic communicator with demonstrable interpersonal and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate clearly and foster a shared commitment to safety.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and capable of adapting quickly to the evolving demands of a major international event, while remaining focused on delivering results and supporting the wellbeing of the wider team.
