Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for strong Azure data engineering fundamentals and experience working with modern data platforms. We would like experience with some of the following: Azure Data Engineering environments, SQL and data modelling, ETL/ELT pipeline design, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure DevOps, and API integrations. Exposure to AI, machine learning, or Copilot-enabled initiatives would be beneficial. We value strong communication skills, curiosity, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. We are interested in candidates who enjoy taking a visible role in shaping platform direction and best practice. Relevant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar technical role is preferred. Responsibilities: We design and build scalable Azure data pipelines. We lead the migration to and adoption of Microsoft Fabric. We build and optimise analytics-ready data models. We integrate multiple internal and external data sources. We support Azure Synapse and Azure Data Lake environments. We contribute to AI and machine learning-driven initiatives. We work closely with business and technical stakeholders. We coach and mentor Data Engineers and Power BI developers. We help shape standards and best practice across the wider team. We combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership. Our team is small, capable and highly visible, giving this role real influence over platform direction, architecture and future capability. This is a Birmingham-based hybrid opportunity, with 2 to 3 days per week in the office.
