Responsibilities
Our team works on some of the most prestigious developments in the UK, and you will be helping deliver projects such as:
* EDF Energy Sizewell C
* HZI Energy Recovery Facility Rookery South
* Milton Road and Histon Road, Cambridge
* Cambridge Eastern Access
* Rackheath, Norfolk
* Contributing to concept studies, strategies, drawing packages, planning applications, technical approval submissions, and construction issues.
* Contributing to various types of development projects across sectors and clients.
* Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* You will be supported by the Cambridge team to develop your technical capabilities and career.
* Involvement in client engagement, stakeholder management, and design team liaison (internal and external).
* Ensuring tasks are delivered on time, within budget, and meet technical standards and legal requirements.
Your Team
* The Development Team is a high-performing discipline within the Planning and Development business unit, comprising over 800 colleagues focused on project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
* Our vision is to be recognized as the strongest development team in the industry, achieved through continuous improvement and excellence in four pillars: Technical, People, Clients, and Operations.
* We assist clients with sustainable development, from pre-feasibility to planning consent, and guide future development plans and multi-disciplinary design from concept to construction.
* Our clients include land promoters, house builders, developers, architects, government, and local authorities. Our services include civil engineering, highways design, utilities, energy planning, drainage, flood risk, site appraisal, and strategic planning.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of highway design, drainage, flood risk assessment, utilities, and the development industry.
* Understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics, and building structures is desirable.
* Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, and drawings with supervision.
* Knowledge of relevant design codes and experience in preparing drawings for contracts and approvals.
* Good communication skills and awareness of current technical and sustainability guidance.
* Proficiency with relevant software such as Info Drainage, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and PDS.
* Experience liaising with clients, professionals, and authorities to obtain approvals and agreements.
* Understanding of legal, planning, design, and contractual procedures related to development projects.
* Knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of project delivery.
* Postgraduate experience or working towards Chartership, or equivalent experience.
