Overview
We are seeking a Junior Test Analyst (Contractor) to support the Test Manager in delivering testing activities for a large-scale Microsoft 365 Tenant Migration and Windows 11 Upgrade program. This role will assist in preparing test cases, executing functional and UAT testing, logging defects, and supporting post-migration validation. The ideal candidate will have basic exposure to Microsoft 365 workloads, Windows upgrades, and test execution processes, with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn from senior test and technical teams.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and execution of test cases for:
* Exchange Online mailboxes, calendars, and contacts.
* SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams data and permissions validation.
* Windows 11 endpoint readiness testing.
* Identity services (Azure AD, SSO, MFA).
* Log and track defects in tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
* Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating with business users and documenting outcomes.
* Assist in preparing test data and supporting test environment setup.
* Maintain clear and accurate documentation of test execution results and observations.
* Execute test cases and document results under the guidance of the Test Manager.
* Perform basic functional, integration, and user acceptance testing for Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 migrations.
* Support defect logging, triaging, and tracking through resolution.
* Collaborate with technical teams to clarify issues and validate fixes.
* Assist in preparing reports on testing progress and results for the Test Manager.
* Help ensure testing adheres to defined processes and organizational standards.
Required Skills and Experience
* Some exposure to software testing or IT support, ideally in Microsoft 365 or Windows environments.
* Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams) and Windows 10/11 endpoints.
* Familiarity with test execution, defect logging, and tracking tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent).
* Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn from senior team members.
* Effective communication skills, able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to follow defined test processes and escalate issues appropriately.
Working Location
Hybrid working with a requirement to travel primarily to our Yeovil site, with occasional visits to Luton or Edinburgh hub sites. Travel will vary week to week, typically 1–2 days per week initially.
