Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our legal team, primarily supporting the Probate Department. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to lawyers and legal professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and proficiency in various office software applications.
Duties
* Manage and organise legal documents, including correspondence, contracts, and case files.
* Typing dictation.
* Prepare and format legal documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates using Outlook.
* Maintain an efficient filing system for easy retrieval of information.
* Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties to facilitate legal processes.
* Assist in the preparation of trial materials and other legal documentation as required.
* Ensure compliance with office policies and confidentiality standards.
Skills
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Highly organised with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
* Basic IT skills to troubleshoot common software issues.
* Previous experience in an administrative or legal environment is advantageous but not essential.
