The role We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity to join our dedicated Independent Living Team as a Scheme Housing Officer. In this role, you will deliver frontline services across our Independent Living Sheltered, Extra Care and Over‑55s schemes in Bromley, Sutton and South West London. You will play a key part in providing high‑quality housing management and support to older residents, ensuring their needs are met while contributing to the successful delivery of our strategic objectives and team plans. Key Responsibilities: Act as the custodian for our schemes, ensuring that they are well run and that buildings are safe and attractive. Work with internal teams and external contractors to ensure repairs and faults are quickly remedied, and the grounds well maintained. Monitor residents' needs and safety through annual home visits and support them where required to access appropriate support or care assessments and services. Proactively involve residents in decisions made about their schemes and service through consultation and co-creation. Organise resident's meetings, surveys and produce regular newsletters for your residents. Support your Team Manager in building and maintaining partnerships with local authorities, local councillors, voluntary sector organisations, community groups and other local partners. Maintain administration systems and databases, processes and accurate records and provide monthly performance reports and information for other reports, as required. What you'll have The ability to manage your time & tasks effectively, working well under pressure both individually and in a team You'll be customer-focused and have experience providing excellent customer care The ability to learn and use IT and communication systems The ability to communicate effectively and concisely, displaying good interpersonal skills in multiple modes (phone, face-to-face, emails and in writing) using customer friendly language The ability to work flexibly and can prioritise work to meet deadlines and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision The ability to develop partnership working internally and with other agencies to generate effective solutions to problems A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle In your supporting statement, it is important that you address how you meet each of the above criteria providing real examples.
