Our client, a well established family run business within the joinery design space, is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their small, friendly team based at their offices in Reading. They have a strong reputation for being very professional and easy to work with. Their Finance Director is looking for someone who loves numbers to come and assist him from a Finance Admin capacity, with a view to progressing into Financial Controller.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the timely input of project data (particularly Timesheet records)
* Support with timely (eventual live) internal project reporting - costs vs budget and forecasting
* Oversee accounts payable ledger (including subcontractors) and draft timely payment runs
* Order processing and client invoicing/debt chasing
* Support with scaling the process's and systems in the department to support business growth
* Provide reporting to aid wider-business forecasting (GBS)
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
* Work closely with senior management to support strategic planning and growth

* Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

* Good communication skills to work across departments and with external partners
* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks independently
