Job Title: Behaviour Mentor - Secondary PRU\n Location: Brent, North West London\n Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier depending on availability)\n Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday\n Pay: Competitive daily rate - PAYE only\n\nTradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a well-established Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the London Borough of Brent to recruit a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), ADHD, and behavioural challenges.\n\nThe Role:\n\nAs a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students aged 11-16 who require additional behavioural and emotional support in a specialist setting. You will support classroom learning, help implement behaviour management strategies, and build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, many of whom may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSupporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis\n\nAssisting with classroom routines and learning activities\n\nImplementing tailored behaviour strategies in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs\n\nPromoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive engagement\n\nDe-escalating challenging behaviour and modelling positive interactions\n\nIdeal Candidate:\n\nExperience working with young people with SEMH, ADHD or behavioural needs (school, youth work, care or residential settings all welcome)\n\nCalm, patient and empathetic approach to behaviour support\n\nTraining such as Team Teach or other de-escalation methods is desirable (or willingness to complete)\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills\n\nConfident working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment\n\nWhy Work with Tradewind Recruitment?\n\nWe pay all staff PAYE only - no umbrella companies\n\nFull access to the National College for free, accredited CPD\n\nAll consultants are Safeguarding trained\n\nOngoing support from a dedicated SEND team with specialist knowledge\n\nOpportunities to transition from supply into long-term or permanent roles\n\nIf you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and are looking for a role where you can truly have an impact, we'd love to hear from you
