Leader Education are looking for a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a school supporting children with complex learning difficulties in Leeds. Within this role, you will be working with children who have a wide range of additional needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, sensory needs, and physical or medical requirements. You will provide support both on a one-to-one basis and within small groups, helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop key life skills, and build confidence in a nurturing environment. Your role will be vital in helping every child reach their potential, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. Role Requirements Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential. What’s most important is a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a willingness to learn and develop within the role. If you have a background in Youth Work, Care, Psychology, Health and Social Care, Sport, Creative Arts, or other relevant fields, we would love to hear from you. You should be patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a commitment to creating a positive and supportive learning experience for all pupils.
