Job Title: Support Worker (Female)*

Job Summary
We are seeking a kind, reliable, and enthusiastic female Support Worker to provide long-term, person-centred support to individuals living in their own homes. This role focuses on promoting independence, confidence, and full community participation.
Due to the specific needs and preferences of the individuals being supported, this position is open to female applicants only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
You'll be supporting individuals with their daily routines, accessing the community, and working in households where pets—particularly guineapigs —are part of daily life. A calm and confident approach around animals is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised, person-centred support in line with individuals' goals and preferences.
* Support with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
* Facilitate access to appointments, recreational and social activities, and community services.
* Promote independence by encouraging skill-building through everyday routines.
* Provide emotional support, build lasting relationships, and promote dignity and choice.
* Assist with mobility and administer medication where required.
* Accurately record support delivered, changes in wellbeing, and individual progress.
* Work respectfully and confidently in homes with animals—especially large dogs.
* Personal care.
Experience and Requirements
* Previous support work or community care experience is desirable but not essential—training can be provided for the right person with the right values.
* A genuine interest in enabling people to live meaningful and independent lives.
* Calm and confident around animals, including large dogs, and respectful of their role in the household.
* Good communication skills and ability to follow care/support plans accurately.
* Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
* Commitment to upholding safeguarding practices and person-centred care values.
