What skills and experience we're looking for
Seven Hills School requires a full‑time Class Teacher to cover maternity leave. The role involves working primarily at the Granville Road site, with potential travel to other sites. The teacher will act as a class tutor for pupils with complex physical and learning needs, delivering a wide range of subjects and supporting students to achieve their personal learning priorities.
Responsibilities
* Deliver planned lessons across all curriculum subjects for pupils with complex needs.
* Plan, monitor and evaluate the progress of individual students and adapt resources accordingly.
* Provide specialist support for pupils with physical, sensory and medical disabilities.
* Collaborate with teaching and support staff, and specialist colleagues, to create an inclusive learning environment.
* Develop and use visual supports to organise learning and classroom structure.
Qualifications & Experience
* An up‑to‑date Team Teach qualification or commitment to obtain one.
* Experience or qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND); early career stage teachers are encouraged to apply.
* Background in primary or secondary mainstream education with a willingness to learn in the specialist sector.
* Ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and deliver high‑quality teaching throughout the four curriculum foundations.
