An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious solicitor or chartered legal executive to join a highly regarded healthcare team at a leading firm. The firm will consider applications from associates with 0–6 years of PQE.
There is a retrain opportunity for talented defendant EL/PL solicitors or chartered legal executives with previous multi-track experience and a keen interest in defendant clinical negligence work.
This role offers a transition into high‑quality NHS related clinical negligence work while continuing to develop their technical and client‑facing skills.

Your new role
This Clinical Negligence Associate role will see you:
1. Managing a caseload of EL/PL and clinical negligence files
2. Drafting detailed reports for key healthcare clients
3. Conducting witness interviews and preparingprehensive witness statements
4. Instructing medical experts and counsel
5. Attending CMCs, interim hearings, mediations and trials
6. Negotiating settlements and conducting conferences with counsel
7. Supporting colleagues on higher‑value andplex claims
8. Opportunities to undertake client secondments with NHS bodies
9. Delivering client training, presentations and drafting articles
10. Supervising and coaching junior team members
What you'll need to succeed
11. NQ+ qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive (full litigation rights required)
12. Defendant EL/PL experience (preferred)
13. Clinical negligence exposure advantageous but retrain supported.
14. Ability to work effectively independently and within a growing, hybrid team
15. Strong appreciation of client protocols, KPIs and service expectations
16. Excellent drafting,munication, and organisation skills
17. High attention to detail and proactive, pragmatic approach
18. Evidence of meeting hours/targets
