We’re looking for caring, calm, and committed individuals to step into the role of Care Support Worker in specialist education settings across North Tyneside. These schools support children and young people with complex physical, learning, and communication needs. Your experience in care could be the steady, reassuring presence that helps a pupil feel safe, seen, and supported every day.
This isn’t just classroom-based support—it’s a deeply human role, focused on building trust, recognising individuality, and creating the conditions where students can thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Supporting sensory regulation and developing motor skills
2. Delivering 1:1 care and following personalised care plans
3. Helping pupils develop speech, language, and communication
4. Getting stuck into creative, hands-on lessons like cooking, art, music, and movement
5. Encouraging social interaction and boosting confidence
6. Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and wider support teams
