Position: Loader / Handler / Crane Operator
Location: Glasson Dock
This is an exciting opportunity - hands-on operational role within a busy dockside environment. Crane operation experience and certification are preferred but training can be provided for the right candidate. Flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to teamwork are essential.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Handling customers' goods from hauliers on arrival at the dock
* Ensuring safe storage and stowage of goods to minimise unnecessary handling
* Inputting documentation and maintaining accurate communication with the Isle of Man office
* Loading goods into containers and preparing accurate container lists
* Conducting quay checks to ensure compliance and operational standards
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation across all areas of the port
* Operating forklift trucks in a safe and efficient manner (training provided if required)
* Operating dockside cranes for vessel loading/unloading, ensuring safe lifting and movement of goods in line with operational and safety standards
* Assisting with ad hoc business and administrative duties as directed
* Supporting vessel loading operations in line with schedules and operational requirements
* Promoting and adhering to Health & Safety standards for self and team at all times
Reporting Line
This role reports directly to the Operations Supervisor / Port Manager.
