About the role
We are looking for Electricians throughout England and Wales to join our Engineering team, performing preventative and routine maintenance on existing rooftop solar panel systems.
Company and context
Ecovision has extensive experience in design, installation and management of distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios across the UK. We have installed over 5500 systems and manage over 19,000 installations across the mainland UK (63MWp capacity), primarily for Portfolio Investors, Councils and Housing Associations. We focus on long-term solar performance and work to minimise operational costs while maximising renewable energy generation.
Responsibilities
* To conduct reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits, including system testing and fault diagnosis related to the design, installation, and monitoring of rooftop domestic Solar PV systems
* Fault finding on Solar PV systems, including meter and inverter replacements
* Work involves using ladders and working in loft spaces
* Keep up to date with best practice and legislative changes; support updates to standard operating protocols in line with system design and equipment
* Ensure knowledge of technical aspects is applied by all engineers and support the Operations function in technical matters
* Communicate complex technical information to customers and team members; build rapport and deliver good customer service
* Adhere to health and safety procedures to assess and mitigate risks prior to visits and dynamically on-site
* Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the Line Manager
What you’ll need
* Essential qualifications: C&G 2330/2360 Part 1&2 / 2365 Level 3 Diploma/NVQ3 or equivalent; 18th Edition wiring regulations
* Minimum two years' experience as a fully qualified electrician
* 2391/2394/2395 Testing & Inspecting (desirable)
* Industry knowledge: basic installation and testing experience; solar experience desirable
* Communication skills: ability to convey technical information in understandable terms
* Analytical skills: attention to detail
* IT skills: strong computer literacy; proficient with technology and equipment (e.g., Apple devices)
* Driving: clean driving licence; comfortable driving long distances
All offers are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service check, satisfactory references, and successful completion of a 6-month probation period.
Location, hours and compensation
Location: Home-based with travel to Solar PV sites around the UK within your area (approximately 100 miles radius). Fully expensed company vehicle and IT equipment provided; opportunities for further required training.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum
