The successful candidate will be able to install and maintain new plant and equipment when required, ensuring that plant faults and defects are swiftly rectified.
Role Summary:
1. React to breakdown maintenance requests within the required SLAs.
2. Have technical awareness of computer room, call centre, and trader operations, with experience in power, UPS, CPS, distribution, cooling, etc.
3. Perform repairs to modular UPS systems.
4. Test and diagnose power quality issues, including harmonic distortion, using onsite power analyzers.
5. Apply a risk-focused maintenance approach and operate plant and systems in data centres and critical environments.
6. Provide emergency response standby and call-out services.
7. Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
8. Respond to work interruptions, outages, or emergencies in accordance with SLAs.
9. Maintain all critical engineering maintenance documentation and records.
10. Advise the Facilities Management Team of changes in critical environment requirements.
11. Willingness to work beyond contractual hours.
12. Undertake site surveys and produce Work Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned works.
13. Perform upgrade and installation work.
14. Interpret technical drawings, instructions, processes, and O&Ms.
15. Ensure completion of all reactive Helpdesk requests.
16. Monitor environmental conditions and review the loading and working conditions of critical equipment regularly.
17. Adhere to financial processes at all times.
18. Complete incident reports for abnormal incidents affecting system availability, with drafts prepared within 24 business hours.
19. Identify root causes and necessary actions to restore and prevent system outages.
20. Review and submit actions to the Technical Services Manager, ensuring documentation is complete.
21. Enter relevant quotes and remedial works into the in-house system.
22. Experience working with building management systems, fault finding, and operator use.
23. Experience with VAV systems, FCU systems, chilled water circuits, and chilled beams.
24. Understanding of HVAC systems.
25. Knowledge of CDM processes.
26. Excellent facilitation and communication skills at all levels.
27. Proven customer service delivery skills.
28. Ability to organize and manage assigned tasks and materials.
29. Experience with H&S procedures, COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessments.
30. Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH.
31. Experience with electrical testing and inspection.
32. Understanding of emergency response, standby, and call-out protocols.
33. Monitoring of utilities and environmental programs.
34. Possession or experience as an Authorised Person (e.g., AP15/12).
35. Water hygiene L8 certification.
