Plant Operative - Quarry Operations Birch Quarry Competitive Salary Join Heidelberg Materials and play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our quarry site. Mobile & Static Plant Operation: Operate, inspect, and maintain a range of quarry plant equipment Safety & Quality Inspections: Conduct thorough Safety, Health, Environmental (SHE) and Quality checks across the quarry, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company standards. Complete inspection checklists before, during, and after operations, reporting and addressing any defects promptly. Maintenance & Efficiency: Carry out routine maintenance and pre-start checks to keep equipment in optimal condition, minimizing downtime and ensuring safe operation. Site Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across the quarry to support safety and operational efficiency. Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow and timely delivery of materials. Key accountabilities Correct and safe operation of mobile plant. Ensure Company procedures are adhered to. To operate static plant in a safe and efficient manner. To maintain plant in good order physically, in accordance with manufacturers and Heidelberg materials recommendations. To complete near miss reports as required by Site Management. Good timekeeping. Keep work stations clean and tidy Ensure visitors sign in and direct them to their meeting and where relevant complete contractor inductions Education/Qualification Good general education is required as a large amount of health and safety regulations and quarry regulations are required to be understood and carried out.
