UnderthesupervisionofthePrincipalTradingStandardsOfficer(SpecialInvestigations)tocarryoutsignificantinvestigationenforcementactivitiesacrossNewportandbeyondtoreducetheimpactofroguetradingbydecreasingconsumerdetrimentandensuringthattheeffectsofsuchactivities,intermsofhealthandwellbeing,arediminished,particularlyinrelationtothosemembersofsocietywhoaremostvulnerableandatrisk.

1. Toundertake,whereappropriate,investigations,eitheronanindividualbasisorasateammember,intoidentifiedbreachesofpotentialbreachesofrelevantregulatoryserviceslegislationandensuresuchinvestigationsarecarriedoutwiththeutmostvigourandmeetthehigheststandardsaslaidoutbystatute,codesofpracticeandbestpractice.
2. Topreparereportsforconsiderationoflegalproceedingsonsuchcontraventionsandtoattendcourtandgiveevidenceasrequired.
3. ToexerciseenforcementpowersinrelationtoregulatoryserviceslegislationandothercriminallegalisationsuchastheProceedsofCrimeAct2002,theRegulationofInvestigatoryPowersAct2000,thePoliceandCriminalEvidenceAct1984andtheCriminalProcedureandInvestigationsAct1996.
4. Tointerviewsuspects(includinginterviewingatpolicestationspriortocharging)utilisingthelatestbestpracticetechniquestothehigheststandards.
5. ToliaiseconstantlywithotherEnforcementAgencies,GovernmentDepartmentsandProfessionalBodiesandattendmeetingsasarepresentativeoftheTeamandtheteamleadersacrossRegulatoryServiceswithrel...
