Skycraft Propellers is a leading specialist engineering Company with over 40 years experience of propulsion systems, principally for aircraft and hovercraft. Working from our base in Litlington, Cambridgeshire you will engage with a well-established dynamic team.
We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for key contracts.Project Management experience gained within a Tier 1 defence contractor or a closely related engineering / manufacturing industry is desirable.
As a key Project Manager, your role will be to coordinate people and processes to ensure that our contracts are delivered on time and achieve the desired results. The successful candidate will be the go-to person for everything involved with the organization and timeline of the contract. The key accountability is to ensure the Engineering Department complies with the regulatory requirements as specified by the Competent Authority and the customer.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis. You should be an excellent communicator, comfortable managing multiple tasks and have the ability to liaise at a senior level. You also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with project activities over their life cycle, managing project outputs, deliverables and ensuring the delivery of project objectives and benefits
Responsible for oversight and supporting as required. This includes supply, maintenance and support activities including sub-contractors.
Ensure support requests are managed from proposal through to completion providing regular feedback and acting as a point of contact when necessary.
Responsible for ensuring that the clients approval for the tasks to be carried out has been obtained and the financial terms are agreed
Ensuring activities are carried out and documentation is completed in accordance with agreed specifications, regulatory requirements and procedures.
Prioritise and plan delivery of allocated projects from programme of works
Produce project documents, such as project management plans, risk assessments and business cases
Deliver project briefs to clients and management
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate for this responsible role must have demonstrable experience to fulfil this role. Applicants must be acceptable to the CAA, MAA & MCA and other authorities as a nominated post holder.

Can demonstrate sufficient knowledge of CAA/MAA Part 145 regulations
The successful candidate for this vital role, shall be flexible, and have the ability to prioritise and problem solve, demonstrate good communication skills and able to work autonomously effectively managing a varied workload.
The role will be required to travel to other locations for meetings; therefore a full UK driving license is essential, as is holding the right to live and work in the UK.
You will also need to have a 5 year checkable history in order to obtain a security pass.
Remuneration and Benefits
Competitive salary, dependent on experience plus discretionary annual bonus
Hours of Work
The hours for this position are as required for the business and the general working days are Monday to Friday based on a 40-hour working week.
The Project Manager is required to provide an exceptionally high level of service and is responsible for ensuring that business needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner. The role will require occasional travel to our suppliers, customers and all our bases, dependent on the needs of the business.
