An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Band 3 Nursing Assistant to work within our Neuro- Rehabilitation and Neuro Psychiatry inpatient services at Walkergate Park.
The service supports individuals who have sustained an acquired brain injury or who have a neurological diagnosis requiring psychiatry assessment. Our patients may present with a range of physical, cognitive, communication and emotional problems, and who may be exhibiting challenging behaviour which prevents the individual engaging in other specialist rehab environments. We aim to provide a secure, structured and low stimulation environment that is suitable for people who require assessment and/ or rehabilitation.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of individuals who have an acquired brain injury. You must be flexible, adaptive and reliable with excellent communication skills and demonstrate a patient centred approach. An interest in working within Neurological care in a challenging but rewarding environment is essential.
You will work shifts, rotating throughout a 24 hour period. You will work in a highly supported environment, and will be provided with training opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills.
We will provide you with a comprehensive induction period and have access to ongoing clinical supervision and appraisal with development review that will provide you with support and the specialist skills required to meet the holistic needs of our patients.
You will be visible and accessible to patients, families and carers working together to ensure efficient, effective safe and caring services. You will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, mutual respect and dignity.
