Fishponds Family Practice has served the community for over 100 years, beginning with Dr Claude Bernard in a Victorian house on Fishponds Road. The practice now offers a modern, stable environment with a diverse team of 5 partners, 5 salaried GPs, nurses, HCAs, urgent care practitioners, and an experienced pharmacy team, supported by care coordinators and management. Innovation and technology streamline processes, support clinicians and enhance patient care. Clinical meetings promote shared learning and collaboration. As a training practice it hosts medical students from Years 1 to 5 and is an active member of a successful Primary Care Network.

Job Description
* Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred clinical care to the practice population
* Provide services aligned with the PMS Contract
* Prescribe safely and effectively, following local and national guidance
* Manage long‑term conditions in line with best practice
* Complete administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner, including referrals and repeat prescriptions
* Participate in the duty doctor rota
* Maintain accurate, comprehensive clinical records
* Share the clinical workload fairly and collaboratively
* Adhere to clinical guidelines and contribute to audits
* Support quality improvement initiatives and continuous development
* Take responsibility for delegated QOF domains or other clinical areas
* Attend and contribute to clinical and practice meetings
* Engage in clinical governance, teaching and training activities
* Maintain appraisal requirements and prepare for revalidation
* Demonstrate a commitment to personal CPD and support the development of others
* Teach and supervise medical students as required
* Contribute to the practice’s strategic aims, including opportunities to enhance income or improve efficiency
* Work in line with practice policies, protocols and processes
* Promote a culture of collaboration, communication and continuous improvement
Experience
* Strong clinical skills and effective time management, and the willingness to be involved in the development of others
* Excellent interpersonal personal skills with evidence of effective teamwork
* Proficient in using electronic health records and embracing new technologies
Qualifications
* Included in NHS England list of medical practitioners as per section 91 of the NHS Act 2006
* Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the General Practitioner Register
* Not prohibited from providing services due to regulation breaches (e.g., NHS Performers Lists Regulations)
