Role Information The school is seeking a diligent, organised, and proactive Attendance Officer to support the monitoring, reporting, and improvement of student attendance across the school. Key responsibilities include: Managing daily attendance registers and ensuring accurate SIMS/Arbor data entry Conducting first-day calling, texting, and communication with parents Monitoring patterns, persistent absence, and punctuality concerns Working closely with Heads of Year, Form Tutors, and DSL team Preparing attendance reports for SLT, governors, and external agencies Conducting home visits alongside pastoral leads (when necessary) Liaising with the Local Authority, Education Welfare Service, and other partners Supporting attendance intervention meetings and parent conferences Ensuring compliance with statutory attendance legislation and school policy Maintaining confidential records relating to safeguarding and attendance referrals This is a role that requires high levels of accuracy, resilience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with families.
