Locum Band 7/8a Mental Health Pharmacist – NHS – Hampshire – Ongoing Contract Hunter AHP have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Pharmacist to join an NHS Trust in Hampshire. This is an excellent chance to take on a long-term locum role within a well-supported mental health team. We are looking for a Band 7 or Band 8a Pharmacist with previous NHS mental health experience to provide clinical pharmacy services across inpatient units. The service is open to pharmacists who can commit to 3, 4, or 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. Key Details: Position: Band 7 or Band 8a Mental Health Pharmacist (depending on experience) Location: NHS Trust, Hampshire Start Date: ASAP Contract Length: Ongoing (minimum 3 months, with likely extension) Working Pattern: Monday to Friday – 3, 4, or 5 days per week (flexible scheduling available) Hours: 9am – 5pm Rate: £28 to £36 per hour (paid weekly via umbrella, DOE) Typical Duties: Providing clinical pharmacy input to mental health inpatient wards Medicines reconciliation on admission and discharge Reviewing and optimising treatment for patients with complex mental health conditions Liaising closely with consultants, nurses, and MDT staff Supporting medicines information and advice for staff and patients Ensuring safe and effective use of psychotropic medicines Requirements: GPhC-registered Pharmacist Minimum 6 months NHS experience as a clinical or mental health pharmacist Previous experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills Able to work independently and manage a clinical caseload Why choose Hunter AHP?
