Health Care Support Worker - Annwylfan Dementia Assessment Unit (OAMH)
Health Care Support Worker vacancies 1 full time 37.5 hrs per week fixed term for 6 months to cover the needs of the service has arisen within the Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Services at Annwylfan Ward, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly.
Shift patterns are working 7 days a weeks on a shift pattern working 12hrs long day and 12hr Night shifts.
This post is a fixed term/secondment for 6 months to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post
Main duties of the job
Annwylfan is a 16 bedded Older Adult Mental Health Dementia Assessment ward in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr,
You will need to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality person centred care. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, carers and other professionals. You must be an excellent team player, have high levels of motivation and enthusiasm for working in a demanding but rewarding service. You will be joining a team that is passionate and focused on achieving excellence in care delivery, for this challenging and rewarding patient group.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibility to meet the rotational shift patterns to cover a 24 hour period.
Have an interest in older adult inpatient care and enjoy working in a busy challenging environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in health and social care or equivalent
* Educated to GCSE A-C in core subjects
Experience
* Have worked with patient with dementia
* Have worked within health and or social service settings
Skills
* To be able to work as part of a professional team
* Listen and verbally communicate effectively
* Ability to act calmly in stressful or challenging situations
* Able to demonstrate assist others with basic daily life skills and activities
