Job overview

We require an enthusiastic and experienced Band 6 staff nurse to work as a member of our Tissue Viability Team. The role is for 37.5 hours but this could be negotiable for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will support delivery of a high standard of care that is researched and evidence based in the field of tissue viability and will work across the geographical area of BDCFT and AWC. They will provide support, advice and education on leg ulcer and tissue viability issues to health and social care professionals, service users, independent organisations and other agencies across the designated economy. They will also have the ability to contribute to the ongoing development of the service.

Main duties of the job

1. To work as a senior member of the Tissue Viability service
2. To provide a high standard of care that is research/evidence based
3. To provide support, advice and education on leg ulcer and tissue viability issues to health and social care professionals, service users, independent organisations and other agencies across the designated health economy
4. Contribute to the ongoing development of the service

Right to Work in the UK

Applicants should be aware that for any individual who requires a visa to work in the UK, the Trust provides sponsorship for registered healthcare practitioner roles only. This is an essential requirement of the role, and the Trust is unable to offer you a role if you are unable to meet Trust requirements for sponsorship and Home Office requirements for a visa.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

5. Registered Nurse
6. Educated to Degree level
7. Recognised qualification in tissue viability, wound care or leg ulcer management.

Desirable criteria

8. Community Nursing qualification
9. Nurse Prescriber (Community Practitioner or independent qualification).

Training

Essential criteria

10. Commitment to undertake relevant training/education to meet the requirements of the role e.g. Nurse Prescribing.
11. Committed to learning through reflective practice.
12. Ability to contribute to the training of others.

Desirable criteria

13. Recognised teaching qualification. Experience of teaching/training others

Experience

Essential criteria

14. Minimum of 2 years, current experience working in an environment dealing with tissue viability management
15. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
16. Experience of team leadership / management
17. Audit skills
18. Ability to deliver training informally and formally.

Desirable criteria

19. Experience of Community Nursing
