Are you an experienced Senior Ecologist with a passion for all things Ecology, looking to contribute your skills and expertise in a more strategic capacity?
We are looking for a Principal or Associate level Ecologist to join a renowned Environmental Consultancy in their mission to have a lasting, positive impact, and to shape the world around us for the better.
About the job:
This role has the option to be based in either Manchester or Sheffield, on a hybrid basis, working flexibly up to 3 days per week from home.
Youll be joining a friendly strategic ecology team working collaboratively with other teams and disciplines on a wide variety projects such as nature recovery and biodiversity action plans, green infrastructure studies, local nature conservation site reviews, and strategic BNG capacity studies.
Your role will also include:
* Managing and delivering ecological assessments for nature recovery
* Responding to land planning and management challenges by developing innovative project methodologies
* Applying ecological knowledge to net zero challenges
* Project management and quality assurance
* Identifying and exploring new opportunities and business development initiatives
* Line management / mentoring of junior colleagues.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary is £39,000 - £60,000 DOE, plus excellent benefits including:

Requirements:
To apply for this role you will need:
* A degree-level qualification in Ecology or similar
* A solid background in Ecological Consulting (minimum 6+ years)
* Strong knowledge of relevant UK policy & legislation in Ecology & Planning
Ideally you will also have one or more of the following experience / skillsets:
* Design and/or delivery of habitat or broader land management plans, at a range of scales.
* Application of biodiversity and/or environmental metrics
* Knowledge of ecosystem services and/or natural capital
* Use of strategic datasets
* Stakeholder engagement, collaborative problem-solving, work-winning and business development skills.
