Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with a range of special educational needs?A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Selly Oak is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 3 team from September.
About the Role:
In this role, you will be providing whole class support in a busy Year 3 classroom. The class includes a high number of students with varying SEN needs, and you will play a key role in ensuring all students are fully supported throughout the school day. Your experience and understanding of different SEN requirements will be essential in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide general classroom support to the Year 3 class teacher.
* Offer targeted support to pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, non-verbal students, and those with challenging behaviour.
* Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
* Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCO to deliver effective support strategies.
* Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 1 year's experience working in a classroom environment.
* Experience supporting students in Key Stage 2, preferably Lower KS2 or KS1.
* Confident supporting a wide range of SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, non-verbal students, and challenging behaviour.
* Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in SEN Support or Teaching Assistant.
* Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
