Subcontractor Heating, Plumbing & Bathroom Engineer (Boilers, Heat Pumps & Bathrooms)
Swift Heating Solutions is seeking an experienced, highly competent subcontractor to support our expanding pipeline of premium domestic projects. This is an opportunity for a top-level engineer with proven expertise in boiler installs, air source heat pumps, and high-end bathroom installations to work alongside our in-house team delivering exceptional standards.
Role Overview
As a subcontracted Heating, Plumbing & Bathroom Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Full installations of air source heat pumps, cylinders, and associated system components
Complete bathroom plumbing and sanitaryware installation to a high finish
Collaborating with our office, electrical, and building teams to deliver complete mechanical packages
Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and delivering exceptional client satisfaction on-site
Key Responsibilities
Install and commission ASHP systems, boilers, and unvented cylinders
Carry out full first and second fix plumbing including for bathrooms, heating, and plantrooms
Strip out and install bathroom plumbing including WCs, basins, showers, baths, concealed pipework, and drainage
Read and follow technical drawings, install packs, and MCS documentation
Ensure all work complies with MCS, Gas Safe, G3, WRAS, and Building Regs
Maintain a clean, professional and well-organised site at all times
Work independently or as part of a team to deliver installs efficiently and to deadline
Communicate effectively with clients, office staff, and other trades to coordinate works
Requirements
Proven experience installing air source heat pumps (e.g. Daikin, Mitsubishi, Samsung, etc.)
Strong track record of gas boiler installations (Gas Safe registration preferred)
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
High-quality bathroom installation experience including concealed pipework and high-end finishes
G3 Unvented Hot Water certification
Own van, tools, and valid public liability insurance
Excellent knowledge of pipework layouts, heating system logic, and press-fit/copper standards
Ability to handle both full installations and smaller remedial tasks
Desirable Extras
MCS experience or understanding of BUS grant installations
F-Gas certification (advantageous but not essential)
Competency in bathroom carpentry elements (boxing-in, floor levelling, etc.)
Familiarity with premium residential projects and client communication expectations
