Job Description

We are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school who are in urgent need of support for their Breakfast and After School Club provision.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to secure a longer-term role within a nurturing and values-led school environment.

The school prides itself on creating a caring and inclusive atmosphere, underpinned by strong values, where children feel safe, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. There is a clear focus on developing the whole child, including their social, emotional and personal development, as well as their academic progress.

They are looking for someone who can contribute to a positive and structured environment, supporting children before and after the school day, and helping to maintain a setting where pupils can thrive, feel secure, and build confidence.

The role involves leading the Breakfast Club (7:30am–9am) and After School Club (3:00pm 6pm), creating a safe, engaging and caring environment that reflects the school’s values. There is the opportunity to add in an extra hour after Breakfast Club or before After School Club bringing the total hours up to 27.5 hours per week.

* Prepare and provide snacks in line with health and safety requirements
* Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for the provision
* From September, provide additional in-school support one day in Pre-School and one day in Reception

Experience and qualifications

* Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years (essential)
* Experience working with children across early years and primary age, ideally Reception to Year 6
* Experience planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities
* Confidence working within the EYFS framework, including Pre-School and Reception
* A secure understanding of safeguarding, with the ability to act as or work towards Designated Safeguarding Lead
* Paediatric First Aid and Health & Safety training desirable (training can be provided if required)
* A calm, organised and reliable approach, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationship
