Verification & Validation Engineer – Security Cleared (Space Industry)Location: Commutable distance to Luton / StevenageClearance: Must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC or higher)Employment Type: Permanent About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to join a leading organisation within the space and satellite sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in the end-to-end verification and validation of complex spacecraft systems, ensuring that design, functionality, and performance meet customer and mission requirements.You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, and Quality to deliver high-assurance verification strategies and test campaigns on cutting-edge space programmes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute verification and validation plans, strategies, and procedures for spacecraft subsystems and systems.Define and manage requirements traceability, ensuring complete coverage from system-level specifications through to final test results.Support test readiness reviews, qualification, and acceptance testing activities.Participate in integration, environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMC), and system-level validation.Analyse test data and produce verification reports, test summaries, and compliance matrices.Work collaboratively with design and systems teams to identify, investigate, and resolve anomalies.Ensure all V&V activities comply with project, customer, and regulatory standards (e.g., ECSS, DOORS, ISO).Essential Skills & ExperienceActive UK Security Clearance (SC or higher) – essential.Proven experience as a Verification & Validation Engineer, Test Engineer, or Systems Engineer within the space, satellite, or aerospace sector.Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycles, including requirements management and validation methodologies.Experience with tools such as IBM DOORS, MATLAB, or similar for requirements traceability and data analysis.Hands-on experience in hardware/software integration and system testing.Knowledge of space industry standards (ECSS, ESA processes, etc.).Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.DesirableExperience with payloads, avionics, or propulsion systems.Exposure to environmental test facilities and automated test systems.Degree-qualified in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
