Timber sales manager
£27200, plus bonus dependent on sales improvements
Tuesday to Saturday 8.30am-5pm with a 45min lunch break
29 days holidays per year including bank holidays
This a new role within the business as the front of house for the sawmill. It will involve staffing our new sawmill shop showcasing the products that the mill produces and buys in.
Initially it would involve supporting a Director, in laying out and setting up the sawmill shop. Learning the products.
Quoting timber orders for the sawmill that comes through via, email, telephone and in person.
Growing the sales of the sawmill in support of the director in charge.
Ensuring that every customer in the store is greeted and helped.
Making sure the shop is clean and tidy and the point of sale is correct inside and outside on sawmill products.
Running weekly stock control reports on sawmill products and passing the information onto the sawmill so they can produce/ order the correct products to ensure we have stock.
Updating stock control/website listings to make sure the information is correct.
Producing point of sale/ special offers with the director in charge.
Developing new ways to improve sales.
Key skills
Experience in sales, retail, or ecommerce (preferred but not required).
Basic knowledge of timber products is a plus, but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
Experience using ecommerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) or similar tools is a plus.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of creative suite would be helpful.
A keen eye for detail.
Willingness to get your hands dirty
Proactive.
