We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and committed Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dagenham, starting as soon as possible. As a Reception Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality EYFS provision that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development. You will create a structured yet play-based learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and creativity while ensuring all children make strong progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging EYFS lessons aligned with the Early Years Framework
* Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
* Support children’s development across communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and personal development
* Use observation and assessment to track progress and inform planning
* Differentiate activities to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years staff
* Build strong relationships with parents and carers through effective communication
* Maintain accurate records, learning journals, and assessments
* Contribute to EYFS planning, moderation, and whole-school initiatives
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching in EYFS, ideally Reception
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework
* Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic about early learning
* Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
* Be reflective, creative, and adaptable
* Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
