Position
Part‑time Assistant Medical Secretary – General Surgery department, Scunthorpe General Hospital.
Job Purpose
Assist the Senior Clinical Secretary in delivering an effective and efficient administration service. Act as the first point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathway of care and ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction through accessibility, customer focus and knowledge.
Responsibilities
* Registering referrals
* Appointing patients and supporting the appointment process
* Inputting data into patient/client records
* Inpatient and outpatient pathway tracking
* Communications and patient care
Competencies
Proficiency in all areas of administrative functions, ability to support the patient pathway, use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with the Referral to Treatment Access Policy (RTT) and delivery within set timescales.
