Our science helps to deliver government priorities set out in the Environmental Improvement Plan, support the transition to net zero and the management of our fisheries and aquaculture sectors outside the EU. As well as our work in the UK, we work with partners around the world.
We are seeking applicants for the role of Project Manager to work with us in the delivery of marine and freshwater science-based projects. As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership to deliver wide-ranging projects. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management to ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, within budget, to the satisfaction of the customer and in line with our governance framework.
You will deliver a full range of project functions such as establishing project plans, managing project risks and issues, project dependencies and managing the transition between project phases to deliver tangible project outputs. You will also manage internal and external relationships to ensure project outcomes are delivered. You will be part of a dynamic team, both as a leader of your project and part of the wider programme or portfolio team. Our work varies, so you will need to be a great communicator, adapting your style to suit a wide range of situations and stakeholders.

Job Description
As a Project Manager, you will drive the delivery of a number of key activities aligned with our organisational strategic priorities:

Ensuring the customer is satisfied with the project deliverables and any issues are resolved during the project life, achieving the outcomes within the project timelines and to the agreed budget.

Defining project resource/skill required to deliver project outcomes and providing appropriate support and challenge around the details of planned delivery activities.

Person Specification
Required
You can make a difference as a Project Manager by demonstrating you meet the following skills and experience required for this position:
* Proven track record in Project Management, preferably from successfully delivering a broad range of customer-facing projects;
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written with an ability to engage teams and stakeholders;
* Ability to work under pressure and be able to organise yourself and delivery teams to meet fast-paced deadlines;
* You must also be able to demonstrate effective decision making and evidence team working.
