Job Overview
We are currently supporting a growing finance business in the search for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their Operations team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring effective collections, maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying and mitigating financial risk. You will work closely with internal Client Management teams to ensure smooth operations, protect revenue, and deliver a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain a proactive and effective credit control and collections process in line with company policy
* Ensure timely follow-ups and collection activity are carried out within agreed SLAs
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date debtor records, including contact details, notes, and collection diaries
* Monitor and reconcile client ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness at all times
* Support payment allocation by obtaining and processing remittance advice and payment details
* Identify and resolve sales ledger queries, working closely with Client Management teams
* Escalate complex or high-risk accounts, including those requiring legal action where necessary
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent levels of service
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve credit control processes and efficiency
* Contribute to the protection of company funds by managing credit risk and debt exposure
About You
* Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client relationships
* Confident handling challenging conversations in a professional manner
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach
* Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
