Mermaid Leisure Ltd is a long-established, family-run swimming pool specialist with over four decades of excellence across Kent and the South East. Known for high-end domestic pool builds, refurbishments, automatic cover systems, and premium maintenance services, we have built a reputation on quality, integrity, and technical expertise.
We are looking for a Service Manager to join our team — someone confident, experienced, and capable of delivering exceptional results with minimal supervision.
The RoleKey ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the service department, including scheduling, routing, and job assignments.
* Ensure all service requests, maintenance visits, repairs, and warranty work are completed accurately, on time, and to a very high standard.
* Maintain proper inventory levels of parts, chemicals, and equipment.
Team Leadership
* Manage, train, and support service technicians to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
* Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing skills development.
* Foster a positive, customer-focused work environment.
Customer Service & Communication
* Act as the primary point of contact for customer service issues, escalations, and technical inquiries.
* Provide clear communication to customers regarding service recommendations, repairs, pricing, and timelines.
Technical Expertise
* Ability to cover engineers in the field when required is beneficial.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
* Prepare daily/weekly reports on service operations, productivity, and job profitability.
* Support budgeting, cost control, and pricing strategies.
* Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
RequirementsYou must have:
* Minimum 10 years' industry experience
* Desire for long-term employment within our company
* ISPE qualifications
* Excellent eye for quality workmanship
* Strong ability to manage your own workload and lead the team efficiently
* Practical understanding of pool hydraulics, filtration, heating, and water chemistry
* Adaptability and ability to cope with seasonal pressure
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong ability to work independently and represent the company at a senior level
* Ability to learn new software efficiently (training provided)
* Experience using scheduling software/CRM systems
* Ability to provide references on request
Highly beneficial:
* Experience leading maintenance projects or overseeing refurbishments
* Additional industry accreditations, specialist manufacturer training, or relevant training
