Further details provided upon application. THE PIG is on the lookout for a creative, dynamic leader to fill the position of Head Chef. This is a truly rare opportunity to lead and inspire a talented team of 20 Chefs who all thrive from cooking simple British food! The Pig in Brockenhurst is our flagship site with no such thing as a quiet day, this Head Chef position is a key leadership role with significant business impact. Our brigade work hand in hand with our team of highly skilled and knowledgeable Kitchen Gardeners to influence the dishes that make up our popular 25-mile menu. As Head Chef, you will not only be supported by a productive workforce, but also by the local farmers and small producers, who supply anything that we cannot grow or produce within our kitchen garden. THE PIG is a 'restaurant with rooms' serving an average of 237 covers per day, where Monday is as busy as Saturday all through the year! Our menus change daily - highlighting the flavours of the garden, using only the freshest ingredients. For a more casual offering, our outdoor wood-oven opens in Spring serving delicious pizza and wood-fired treats. This Role includes oversite and support for our small deli kitchen at our site in Southampton but primarily based in Brockenhurst. What makes us different: Everything is 'hands-on'. From foraging to butchery, our Chefs get their hands dirty. You will be part of a close-knit team. PIG Head Chefs meet periodically to exchange ideas and celebrate achievements. Working within an environment which has a food revenue in the excess of 3 million per year. Our menu is all about simplicity. Showcasing flavour without over-complicating dishes. You will take an active role in leading, teaching and inspiring the apprentices. We are an expanding group. About you: We are seeking a Head Chef with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a similar establishment at a Head Chef level. Exposure to a 2 AA Rosette restaurant is beneficial, but at THE PIG, we do not chase stars. This is a strong brigade that requires a leader that can inspire and develop the next generation of senior chefs in the group. Come with enthusiasm, your knives and an open mind that this opportunity is not your regular Head Chef role. You will need to have excellent organisation skills and the ability to produce consistent results.
