Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a special pupose machinery manufacturer near Chesterfield to help them recruit an Electrical Project Engineer.Our client has over a century of expertise in providing specialised equipment for challenging environments. They offer a range of products designed to enhance operational efficiency and environmental compliance, including portable ventilation systems and water treatment solutions.
POSITION DETAILS

ROLE OVERVIEW
As an Electrical Design / Project Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems, working with conventional logic (relay, timer) and PLC-based hardware and software. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth, with mentorship and on-the-job training available from a highly experienced team member.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Designing electrical control systems based on conventional logic and PLC/HMI solutions from customer-supplied documentation.
* Creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings using AutoCAD.
* Developing 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
* Maintaining and improving existing product lines, ensuring continuous innovation.
* Producing comprehensive product documentation, including instruction manuals and technical literature.
* Assisting in contract documentation and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver large-scale projects.
* Traveling to client sites for meetings, installations, and commissioning as required.
* Creating cause-and-effect diagrams, power consumption tables, and heat dissipation analyses.
* Supporting quality and work procedures for manufacturing and workshop operations.
* Assembling control panels, troubleshooting, and installing new and existing equipment.
* Managing Bill of Materials (BOMs) within the company’s MRP system.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* Minimum HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering (degree-level preferred).
* Significant experience in designing control systems using conventional logic and PLCs.
* Strong understanding of wiring regulations and industry standards, especially in the marine sector.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical schematics.
* Basic familiarity with 3D CAD software (PTC Creo preferred).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel.
