Job Opportunity: Maternity Cover Teacher at CrossReach
At CrossReach, caring isn’t just what we do – it’s who we are. If you’re a passionate and GTCS-registered teacher seeking a meaningful role, this is your opportunity to make a real difference. We’re offering a maternity cover position for the 2025/26 school session, supporting young people aged 14+ with Complex Additional Support Needs in a small group setting.
This role is unique. Education here is deeply personal. You’ll help young people who have faced significant challenges reconnect with learning, build confidence, and develop life skills. In a therapeutic, nurturing environment, you’ll create bespoke learning experiences, fostering a sense of value and capability. You’ll build trusting relationships and tailor your teaching to each learner’s needs.
We seek someone who believes in every young person’s potential. You should be GTCS-registered, with experience working with children or young people with additional support needs, or eager to gain it. Your approach should be warm, relational, and inclusive, understanding how trauma, neurodiversity, or other barriers impact education. Bringing calm, consistency, and empathy is essential.
Excellent communication skills and confidence working within a team are required—liaising with care staff, therapists, families, and external agencies. A full UK driving license is preferred, or willingness to obtain one. While sharing our faith is not necessary, comfort working within a Christian ethos that values compassion, dignity, and inclusion is important.
CrossReach has been making a difference since 1869. Joining us means becoming part of a professional, passionate, and supportive team. We offer small class sizes, a strong team culture, and investment in your development. Most importantly, you’ll do work that truly matters.
If you’re ready to inspire and support young people and create lasting change, we’d love to hear from you.
