Job Summary
Join Kingston Hospital as a Trust Registrar in Emergency Medicine. The Trust Doctor will be part of an existing motivated team of ED Medical Practitioners providing excellent clinical care to patients. The department supports staff at all levels and recognises the intensity and demands of the Emergency Department.
Consideration will be given to a working pattern that blends adult and paediatric emergency medicine shifts or an exclusive paediatric emergency medicine rota for the successful candidate. Trust doctors with an interest in paediatric ED are encouraged to apply.
Main Duties of the Job
* The assessment and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department in all clinical areas under the direction of the Consultant in Charge.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
* Support nursing staff and junior colleagues.
* Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Abide by Trust standing regulations and clinical guidance.
* With the post holder’s employer contractual obligations and statutory/regulatory requirements.
* Report any risk arising to patients, staff or other service users.
* Establish an agreed personal development plan with the allocated Consultant Mentor.
* Attend and/or participate in departmental teaching programmes.

Person Specification and Qualifications
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* Current ALS certificate
* Current ATLS certificate
* Full GMC Registration
Desirable
* APLS
* MRCEM
Clinical Experience
* Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience.
* At least 12 months must have been worked in Emergency Medicine in a healthcare system similar to the UK.
Desirable
* Additional experience in acute specialties
* Previous NHS experience
Competencies
* Evidence of achievement of ACCS EM competencies (see RCEM Curriculum)
Language
* Demonstrable written and spoken English to the standard needed for the role
Training, Audit and Research
* Understanding of clinical governance and participation in quality improvement activities
* Commitment to continuing medical education
Personal Qualities
* Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
* Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
* Enquiring, critical and flexible approach to work
